JAZZ AT THE VILLA – Paweł Kaczmarczyk Audiofeeling Trio

  • Willa Lentza

Paweł Kaczmarczyk Audiofeeling Trio is one of the most outstanding representatives of the young wave of Polish jazz. For years, the ensemble has been collecting the admiration of the audience and the laurels of music critics.
Kaczmarczyk has belonged to the elite group of recognised European pianists for a long time. He has recorded for many prestigious labels, such as ACT Music, Fresh Sound Records and Hevhetia. As the creator of the album "Complexity In Simplicity" (ACT Music 2009), he became the third (after Stańko and Wasilewski) Polish jazz artist recording for such a well-known label in the role of the bandleader.

Over the past two decades, he has recorded six well-received albums, which have brought him numerous awards, including Trójka's Mateusz, six wins in the Jazz Top poll of the "Jazz Forum" magazine, five "Jazz Oscars" (Grand Prix Jazz Melomani), two nominations for the Fryderyk and "Kulturalny Odlot" by Gazeta Wyborcza. The reviews of the pianist's class are also evidenced, two of which are particularly worth recalling:

Listening to how Paweł Kaczmarczyk produces sounds from the keys, we can understand what full-blooded, engaging jazz pianism is all about. CHICAGO TRIBUNE

The name Kaczmarczyk will become the definition of virtuosity and creativity in jazz. MANNHEIMER MORGEN

With the jazz legend Janusz Muniak, Kaczmarczyk officially gave concerts in various ensembles since 2002, when he was accompanied on stage by the greatest masters of world jazz – Lee Konitz, Joe Lovano, Branford Marsalis, Greg Osby, Zbigniew Namysłowski, Piotr Wojtasik, Michał Urbaniak, Roman Gucio Dyląg and many other amazing musicians.

Paweł Kaczmarczyk Audiofeeling Trio has not performed in Szczecin for years. The more attractive will be the musicians' performance at the Lentz Villa, during which they will present a new program, prepared for the recording of the band's next album. In addition to the dynamics and virtuosity known to the audience, it will present a more reflective side of the Trio, reflecting thus the dramatic events of recent times.

The brilliant pianist will be accompanied by Alan Wykpisz – bass player, laureate of many competitions -Jazz Hoeilaart 2011, Bass2012 Copenhagen, Tarnów International Jazz Contest 2014 and drummer, Grzegorz Pałka – three times nominated for the Fryderyk Award. Grzegorz Pałka in his artistic achievements can boast of cooperation with many outstanding musicians, including Piotr Wojtasik, Piotr Wyleżoł, Gileno Santana and Kuba Stankiewicz.

The series is organised by the Lentz Villa, "small great music", a label from Szczecin is the partner of the series.
