"I don't write new music. My music is a response and an echo of what already exists". The words of Valentin Silvestrov, one of the heroes of Concerto Breve, will be the keynote of the prepared repertoire, which includes music of the masters of the 19th century and works of contemporary Ukrainian composers, drawing on their predecessors. We will hear Salut d'amour and Serenade by Edward Elgar next to Navarra by Pablo de Sarasate; folklore inspirations in the company of 20th-century compositional techniques by Mirosław Skoryk. A Polish accent in the form of a "breve" will also be present – a short concerto by Romuald Twardowski and the incredible talent of Yevgeniy Kostrytskyy, concertmaster of the currently silent Odessa Philharmonic. Unique and delicate, dramatic and emotional. Past and current – this is what Concerto Breve will be like.
