Janek Pentz – guitarist and composer associated with the fingerstyle scene – is the protagonist of our next concert in the JUVENUM HORTUS cycle, to be held at the Lentz Villa on 5th August 2023 at 7 p.m.
This gifted, merely 22-year-old artist’s abilities have already won him invitations to perform with such stars as Tommy Emmanuel, Kwiat Jabłoni, Andrew York, Andy McKee, Luca Stricagnoli, Daniel Cavanagh, Alex Misko, Igor Presnyakov, Marek Napiórkowski, Mirosław Czyżykiewicz, Lion Shepherd, and Stefano Barone.
Pentz frequently emphasises that he is ‘first and foremost a questing human, who uses music and the instrument – the guitar – as the tools of his quest’.
Outside Poland Pentz has been hailed in, among others, Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Great Britain, and the Vatican. He is the winner of the HASPA Guitar Cup (Hamburg 2022) and author of three original albums. At the Lentz Villa, he will play his own compositions.
Despite growing up with rock and metal, Pentz will most likely bring to our Sunday concert a varied sound, combining elements of country music, jazz, blues, pop, and rock. These are the inspirations of fingerstyle, which is now taking the world’s stages by storm.
