Invite you to participate in the VOICEandVILLAS 2025 International Vocal Competition, organized by the Willa Lentza – a cultural institution in Szczecin.

The final of the second edition of the international event will take place in Szczecin on May 31, 2025, at the Lentz Villa.

PARTICIPANTS:

Singers of all nationalities may enter the competition, regardless of their place of residence, born no earlier than April 1984 and no later than April 2006. The artists will present their talents to music lovers and an international jury – outstanding representatives of the music world.

THE GOAL OF THE COMPETITION IS, AMONG OTHERS:


To enable young singers to develop their artistic personalities, shape their musical and artistic preferences, and raise awareness regarding the vocal technique.

To showcase the vocal skills of young singers.

To promote musical culture and artistic values.

To support and promote talents and provide an opportunity to present their vocal skills and artistic achievements.

VOICEandVILLAS 2025 COMPETITION SCHEDULE:


April 1, 2025 – start of accepting applications for participation in the competition (required documents along with the program for the first round of the competition and final)

April 14, 2025 – deadline for submitting applications

April 21-25, 2025 – Auditions of recordings for the first round of the competition by the competition committee

April 30, 2025 – publication of the list of people qualified for the final

May 30, 2025 – rehearsals with competition pianists for the final participants

May 31, 2025 – competition auditions

May 31, 2025 – announcement of results and Final Gala Concert

JURY:


Participants in the first round of the competition (online) will be judged by a jury appointed by the organizer:

Prof. Dr. Hab. Katarzyna Dondalska [PL] – Artistic Director of the Competition, Chair of the jury. One of the most outstanding contemporary Polish coloratura sopranos, lecturer at the Academy of Arts in Szczecin.

Dr. Janusz Lewandowski [PL] – soloist at the Opera at the Castle in Szczecin, soloist at the Opera Nova in Bydgoszcz.

Dr. Aura Twarowska [RO] – mezzo-soprano, soloist at the Vienna State Opera.

Franz Gürtelschmied [AT] – tenor, soloist at the Bastille Opera, Opera in Graz, Salzburg Festival, and Maggio Musicale Fiorentino.

Prof. Dr. Hab. Magdalena Idzik [PL] – mezzo-soprano at the Grand Theatre – National Opera, lecturer at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw.

Prof. Dr. Hab. Alexander Vovk [CZ] – soloist at the Silesian Theatre in Opava, lecturer at the University of Ostrava.

Tomasz Krzysica [PL] – soloist at the Chamber Opera in Warsaw, lecturer at the Academy of Arts in Szczecin.

Participants in the final of the competition will be judged by an international jury composed of outstanding figures from the world of music and vocal performance, as well as directors of cultural institutions:

Prof. Dr. Mariusz Kwiecień [PL] – world-renowned baritone, lecturer at the Academy of Music in Kraków.

Members:


Prof. Dr. Hab. Katarzyna Dondalska [PL] – Artistic Director of the competition, one of the most outstanding contemporary Polish coloratura sopranos, lecturer at the Academy of Arts in Szczecin.

Dr. Tomasz Tokarczyk [PL] – conductor, Silesian Opera in Bytom.

Prof. Marcin Nałęcz – Niesiołowski [PL] – conductor, Director of the Grand Theatre in Łódź, professor of the arts.

Prof. Piotr Kusiewicz [PL] – tenor, pianist, casting manager at the Baltic Opera, professor of singing at the Music Academy in Gdańsk.

Gabriele Rossmanith [DE] – soprano, associated with the Hamburg State Opera.
