On Wednesday 15th May 2024 at 7 p.m., the Lentz Villa will resound with the hot rhythms of Portuguese music, courtesy of Baltic Neopolis Quartet and João de Sousa.
De Sousa is a Portuguese singer-composer, guitarist, songwriter, and music producer, author of three albums (Luta, Ideal, and Furacão). He collaborates with such Polish artists as Natalia Grosiak, Dorota Miśkiewicz, Macio Moretti, and Andrzej Smolik, among others.
The artist’s Portuguese roots have a strong impact on the music he writes and performs, though his fascinations with such genres as jazz, world music, and the avant-garde make his style stand out from the traditional fado.
Baltic Neopolis Quartet, already very familiar to the Lentz Villa’s regular audience, was founded in 2008 on the initiative of soloists from Szczecin’s Baltic Neopolis Orchestra. Its members share a passion for the classical repertoires primarily of the 20th and 21st centuries.
