On Saturday, November 20, at 18:00, the Lentz Villa will host a concert co-organized with the Academy of Early Music Foundation entitled "Music in former Szczecin".
The centuries-old musical heritage of Szczecin comprises the compositions of today's forgotten and unknown masters. After centuries of oblivion, today, we reach for the works of 18th-century composers from Szczecin to rediscover the extraordinary world of late Baroque style and the heralds of new trends in the era of the Enlightenment.
The program includes works by Theophil Andreas Volckmar, a Szczecin virtuoso and composer, organist of the Church of St. Jakub, and Christian Michael Wolff, titular organist at the Castle Church and St. Mary's Church in Szczecin. Additionally, we will hear pieces by Georg Philipp Telemann, and Antoine Forquerey performed by Mikołaj Zgółka playing the baroque violin and harpsichordist Urszula Stawicka.
