Icons of culture – songs from Elderly Gentlemen’s Cabaret at the Lentz Villa
These three December evenings will probably long be remembered by guests flocking to the Lentz Villa. Singer Piotr Zubek and pianist Bogdan Hołownia presented songs (now of cult status) from the Polish TV revue titled ‘Elderly Gentlemen’s Cabaret’ – little masterpieces written by Jerzy Wasowski and Jeremi Przybora.
Zubek, a singing actor who boasts a characteristic voice and a vast vocal range, was joined by his accompanist in such old hits as ‘For Sex Is in Me’, ‘Tea Time’, ‘The Autumn Girl’, ‘O Juliet, o Romeo’, ‘Snow Everywhere’, ‘You No Longer Take a Bath for Me’, and ‘Good Night, It’s Time to Sleep’. Among the audience we found many persons who have either performed at or collaborated on many cultural events held in 2021 and 2022 in the Lentz Villa – Szczecin’s youngest institution of culture. The concerts were followed by a small reception with snacks and sweets.
