Works by French composers and poets will be presented at the Lentz Villa on 7th October 2023 at 7 p.m. by Adele Lorenzi (soprano) and Justine Eckhaut (piano).
Singer Adele Lorenzi obtained her DNSPM (bachelor’s degree) from the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse in Lyon. She also studied at Berlin’s Universität der Künste (master’s degree) and took part in the Génération France Musique programme. She has appeared with, among others, the Liège Opera Orchestra, Appassionato, Le Concert de l’Hostel Dieu, and Cristofori Ensemble. On the operatic stage she has performed the roles of Mimi (Opéra royal de Wallonie in Liège), Iolanta (Opernhaus Kiel), Blanche de la Force (Lyon CNSMD), Flaminio (Théâtre National Populaire de Lyon), and Tomiri, Great Priestess of Diana (Abbaye de Fontevraud). French pianist Justine Eckhaut, the artistic director of the innovative Berlied festival in Berlin, has appeared, among others, at the Opéra National de Lyon, Berlin’s Staatsoper Unter den Linden and Konzerthaus, during the Bregenzer Festspielen and at Bern’s Konzert Theater. In 2021 the Swiss label Prospero recorded Eckhaut’s album with lyrical soprano Marie-Pierre Roy, titled Le long du quai, which comprises French-language songs composed to the poetry of the world’s first literary Nobel prize winner Sully Prudhomme. Eckhaut has taken part in such events as the Heidelberger Frühling Lied Academy, Schubert-Woche at Berlin’s Pierre Boulezsaal (artistic director – Thomas Hampson), and others. Her work is supported by Eric Schneider, Hartmut Höll, Helmut Deutsch, Sarah Tysman, and Axel Bauni. Moreover, she regularly collaborates with Austrian bass-baritone Philipp Mayer, Latvian mezzo-soprano Vizma Zvaigzne, and German soprano Amanda Becker.
Since April 2019, Eckhaut has been an accompanist at singing lessons at the Universität der Künste Berlin. She is also a pianist and répétiteur to the Kinderchor Staatsoper Berlin (cond. Vinzenz Weissenburger) and to the Berliner Mädchenchor (cond. Sabine Wüsthoff).
