On Saturday, June 25, 2022, at 9.00 p.m., the semi-opera entitled The Fairy Queen by English Baroque composer Henry Purcell (1659-1695) will resound in the garden of the Lentz Villa. The libretto for the composition was probably created by Thomas Bettertonna (1635-1710) based on William Shakespeare's comedy "A Midsummer Night's Dream".
The action of the work takes place in the fairy-tale world of Elves in ancient times. The heroes include forest inhabitants: fairies, forest spirits, fortune-tellers, nymphs and wizards. The piece will sound in the original arrangement of the Academy of Early Music Foundation. In addition to the Famd.pl Orchestra, conducted by Paweł Osuchowski, Ingrida Gapova – soprano (Slovakia), Volodymyr Andruszczak – bass (Ukraine) and Michał Janicki – narrator will perform.
