Melina Mandozzi and BNO at the Lentz Villa
Melina Mandozzi was the star of the Saturday concert at the Lentz Villa, as part of the "GREAT CONCERTMASTERS" series. A Swiss student of Yehudi Menuhin made her debut at only 12 with the famous Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
Together with the Baltic Neopolis Orchestra, the artist performed five pieces for two violins and a string orchestra by Dmitri Shostakovich, arranged by Norwegian composer Andreas Block Laberg. The large audience also warmly welcomed the rarely interpreted works by Norwegian composers Ole Bornemann Bull, "Säterjäntans söndag" and "I Ensomme Stunde", as well as Edvard Grieg's String Quartet No. 1, Op. 27 perfectly arranged by Alf Årdal.
