The results of the ‘AMBER RING’ poll, conducted since 1965 by the ‘Kurier Szczeciński’ daily’s editorial team, were announced on 5th December. The solemn Award Gala, during which the Western Pomerania region’s best actors and theatrical productions were awarded, was held at the Lentz Villa.

It was a pleasant surprise that ‘Kurier Szczeciński’ presented its Special Award to the Lentz Villa for creating and developing a new theatrical stage in Szczecin. The award was collected by the Villa’s director, Jagoda Kimber.

We are also proud to announce that the Amber Ring in the actor/actress category goes to Olek Różanek for the monodrama The Accompanist (dir. Zurab Pirvelli) staged at the Lentz Villa. The audience, which sent in their votes by text message or on special coupons printed in ‘Kurier’, chose as the best spectacle the monodrama Once When I Tried to Be…, directed and performed by Michał Janicki at the Kameralny Theatre.

The jury named Zenon Fajfer’s Take-Off (the Współczesny Theatre in Szczecin, dir. Anna Augustynowicz) as this season’s best production and Ewa Sobiech’s performance as Pasionaria 1 in the same theatre’s production of La Pasionaria as the season’s best role. The Silver Spur went to actress Helena Urbańska from the Współczesny Theatre, and the Grand Prix – to Zdzisław Derebecki, actor and at the same time director of the Baltic Drama Theatre in Koszalin.
