Queen of Baroque at the Lentz Villa
The Sunday concert at the Lentz Villa was the culmination of the ten-day International MEISINGER Music Festival.
Soprano Simone Kermes was the highlight of the evening. German music critics have hailed her as "The Mad Queen of Baroque Music". Antonio Vivaldi's and Georg Friedrich Handel's works were performed by the soloist accompanied by the group of early instruments of the Warsaw Chamber Opera – Musicae Antiquae Collegium Varsoviense.
The audience was also greatly impressed by the performance of the guitarist Krzysztof Meisinger, joined by the outstanding singer. As usual, the audience did not disappoint, including the members of the METRUM association dressed in period costumes, gathering baroque enthusiasts, led by Andrzej Wątorski, who hosted the concert. Finally, the artists, rewarded with a storm of standing applause, thanked the audience for their warm reception with three encores.
