Urszula Szyryńska
The pianist has premiered many chamber music compositions, recorded extensively for the national and regional radio and television, as well as record labels. Her music releases include Johann Nepomuk Hummel – Works for Viola with violist Marcin Murawski (Acte Préalable), two albums of music by French composer René de Boisdeffre (Works for Viola and Piano with Marcin Murawski), the CD Marek Jasiński and Jaromir Gajewski. Works for Piano and Saxophone (with saxophonist Julita Przybylska), and another album dedicated to Polish contemporary composers, which includes a piece by Artur Cieślak performed with Dariusz Samól.
Szyryńska has taken part in numerous music festivals and competitions, including the 2nd Krzysztof Penderecki International Contemporary Chamber Music Competition in Cracow, the International Chamber Music Competition in Caltanissetta, Sicily, and the 13th World Saxophone Congress at the University of Minneapolis (USA). Honoured in the Bronisław Huberman Austrian music cycle in Warsaw, apart from her concert schedule Szyryńska is also very intensely involved in music education. Her pupils have frequently won top prizes in piano competitions. In 2005 in Warsaw, she received the Witold Hulewicz Award for her work with blind musicians.
